Come work as a Registered Nurse at Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island! Island Health is seeking registered nurses to join the Lady Minto Hospital team. Multiple openings are available, including full-time, part-time, casual and temporary positions.
Salt Spring Island, the largest of the southern Gulf Islands, is located off the east coast of Vancouver Island. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BC College of Nurses and Midwives).
Additional Requirements for Acute, Extended Care and Emergency Units
- Advanced preparation in emergency and/or obstetrics specialty training. Two (2) years' recent related experience in medical/surgical, obstetrics, emergency/urgent care, neonatal resuscitation, emergency pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.
Skills And Abilities
Ability to apply the nursing process effectively in a well-organized manner to the care of assigned patients. Ability to physically perform the duties of the position. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, including co-workers, physicians, community, agencies, representatives, patients/clients/residents and families. Ability to remain calm and to act appropriately in stressful and emergency situations.
