24/7 Occupational & Emergency Medicine Solutions (24/7 OEMS) is currently accepting applications for a full-time Canadian Certified Occupational Health Nurse (Canadian RN licence current and in good standing is required) for an occupational health clinic in the Merritt/Kamloops region of British Columbia.

The Occupational Health Nurse will be expected to practice within the medical directives and formulary as approved by the 24/7 OEMS Medical Director. The Occupational Health Nurse will work as part of the on-site clinical team and have access to our 24/7 on-call emergency medicine consultants. Prior experience in occupational medicine and or the provision of advanced care in a remote setting would be an asset. 

The RN will be expected to:

  • Provide on-site emergency / primary and occupational health services
  • Assist with occupational injury / illness case management.
  • Review pre-employment medical examinations.
  • Provide occupational health surveillance services: audiometric, spirometry and respiratory fit testing.
  • Provide drug and alcohol testing services.

Qualifications:

  • BC Registered Nurse (Required)
  • Occupational First Aid lvl 3 / Advanced First Aid certification (Required)
  • BLS (Required)
  • ACLS
  • CPR/AED Health Care Provider
  • ATLS (preferred)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly rate is equivalent to $800 per day
  • Supplemental overtime and call-back rates
  • Daily LOA available
  • Flights to and from the local community are provided as required
  • Accommodations provided for employees that live outside of the Merritt / Kamloops region
  • Funding for required certifications (I.e. Alcohol and Drug testing certifications)

Schedule:

  • Typical rotations are 14 days in duration followed by 14 days off 
  • 7 days per work week
  • 10-12 hour shifts including travel
