In this role, you’ll provide meaningful, client-centered care supporting individuals receiving treatment for mental health and substance use disorders — helping improve stability, safety, and quality of life within a supportive community pharmacy setting.

We are currently hiring for both full-time and part-time positions, offering flexibility while making a real impact in the community.

If you are passionate about harm reduction, relationship-based care, and working collaboratively to support vulnerable populations, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
As part of an interdisciplinary care team, you will:
  • Prepare and administer Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) medications (including methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone, and Kadian) in collaboration with pharmacists and prescribers
  • Conduct witnessed ingestion and observed dosing while ensuring safe, accurate medication administration
  • Monitor client progress, adherence, and overall wellbeing, responding appropriately to clinical or safety concerns
  • Communicate changes in client presentation, missed doses, or risks to pharmacists and the broader care team
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, and community partners to support coordinated care planning
  • Provide education on OAT, harm reduction, overdose prevention, safe medication storage, and naloxone use
  • Distribute naloxone kits and support overdose prevention initiatives
  • Connect clients with community and social supports through referrals and resource navigation
  • Maintain accurate, real-time documentation and controlled substance records in compliance with provincial guidelines and pharmacy standards
  • Ensure clinical and pharmacy supplies are maintained to support safe service delivery
  • Practice in accordance with BCCNM standards, professional regulations, and pharmacy policies

What You Bring
  • Current registration as an LPN or RN in good standing with BCCNM
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Experience in mental health and/or substance use care (preferred)
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed practice
  • Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
  • A compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client care

Why Join North Island Pharmacy?
  • Meaningful work supporting community health and recovery
  • Collaborative, interdisciplinary environment
  • Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities
  • Opportunity to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients
  • A role that combines clinical nursing with community impact
